Au Revoir Lucy! We’ll miss you…

Posted on: 20th May, 2019

We’re saying au revoir to Lucy Williamson who has a new job at The Museum of Zoology in Cambridge.

Lucy has been with the theatre for some 5 years, and in her role as Front of House and Events Manager since two and a half years ago.

During that time, Lucy has been instrumental in bringing the department forward in leaps & bounds. She has overseen the establishment of an industry standard induction and training programme for our volunteers, the introduction of the new tills and associated training and the roll out of the volunteer self-allocation shift system. Lucy has achieved this alongside being a vital member of the team setting up & delivering the Close Encounters tours and the refinement of the booked & drop in tours.

Oh, Lucy’s also responsible for keeping the department functioning and equipped to handle 350 odd shows and events annually. That would include populating the monthly rota with bar staff, car park stewards heritage guides and duty managers, and duty managing her own fair share of shows, while organising and delivering weddings and parties AND… ordering confectionery & ice-cream by the van load! Most notably, Lucy has been the partner in crime to our Theatre Manager Matthew, a colleague beyond value, bringing him up to speed and being a constant guide through everything that’s thrown at them.

If you’re coming to a show or just passing in the next month or so, do drop in to say cheerio and wish Lucy well, we’re going to miss her something shocking.

Lucy’s going to be very difficult to replace and we wish her every success on the next leg of her journey.
