Theatre Royal Supporters Group
The Theatre Royal enjoys a close and mutually beneficial relationship with the Theatre Royal Supporters Group, a voluntary group run by enthusiastic supporters providing invaluable fundraising, which in turn contributes to the overall success of Theatre Royal.
Since the group was formed in 2014 they have come up with novel and exciting ways to raise funds at their monthly meetings.
These include the highly successful Bury’s Got Talent, The Ding Dong Daddios – a live swing band in the Greene King Garden, An evening with MsMarmiteLover, a sponsored skydive, a Casino night, car boot sales and regular prize draws.
Money raised will be used for specific projects within the theatre and essential technical equipment, as well as providing funding for shows and activities aimed at specific audiences such as Once Upon a Festival, East Anglia’s Children’s Arts Festival.
The range of fundraising activities is extensive, and this is all achieved by local people who share a love of live theatre and the desire to help Theatre Royal in a practical way.
This additional fundraising for specific projects is separate from the £180,000 of core funding which has to be raised by the Theatre each year to keep it running.
