Irving Stage Company returns celebrating it’s 60th anniversary with a romantic musical that has enchanted audiences on stage and screen since its premier in 1956.
Covent Garden flower seller Eliza Doolittle dreams of a better life working in a posh flower shop. She knows her accent will keep her on a street corner, but when irascible professor Henry Higgins claims he could teach her to speak like a lady, the pair embark on a journey to turn a ‘squashed cabbage leaf’ into a consort fit for a king.
The glorious score includes the songs ‘Wouldn’t it be Loverly?’, ‘I Could Have Danced All Night’ and ‘I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face’.
To mark Irving’s 60th anniversary, we invite you to put on evening dress and join us for a Gala Evening during the performance on Thursday 7 November. For just £2.50 extra per person on your ticket price (bands A, B and C only) you will enjoy a glass of prosecco, plus nibbles and a cupcake as we host an interval reception.
This amateur production is presented in arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe).
