‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’ – screening

Theatre Royal are delighted to announce that we have TWO screenings of The Personal History of David Copperfield, a new film in which the theatre features as a location.
From birth to infancy, from adolescence to adulthood, the good-hearted David Copperfield is surrounded by kindness, wickedness, poverty and wealth, as he meets an array of remarkable characters in Victorian England. As David sets out to be a writer, in his quest for family, friendship, romance and status, the story of his life is the most seductive tale of all.
Please note, the Monday screening with also have a 6.30pm pre-show reception and a post-show Q&A with special guests including the Producer and Location Manager.
We have been given special permission to show The Personal History of David Copperfield film as a fundraiser for Theatre Royal, with our grateful thanks to Lionsgate and Armando Iannucci.
This is a fundraising event to support Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds (Registered Charity Number 242977).
It was fantastic and it’s the only surviving theatre from the time of the book, so it was absolutely perfect for us. It’s a wonderful theatre – the staff there were very, very friendly and allowed us to have it for two whole days. We shot an awful lot there.Armando Iannucci
