Head of Development
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fundraiser with a passion for the arts and specifically theatre to join Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds’ Management team as Head of Development. This role devises and delivers the strategy for raising an annual core target, and project work requirements.
This 350 seat Georgian theatre is currently celebrating it’s 200th anniversary with special events to supplement the varied and vibrant programme of work.

Job Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: circa £30,000 per annum depending on experience
We are seeking to recruit Duty Managers to join our busy Front of House Team. Working with a team of Volunteer Stewards and FOH staff you will be responsible for the welfare and welcome of members of the public attending events. You will be overseeing the delivery of opening and closing shows and managing front of house operations, whilst working in a historic building. At Theatre Royal, we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards of customer care. The ideal candidate will have a positive can-do attitude with the ability to perform in a busy environment, a confident decision-maker with the ability to manage a wide range of people.

Do you have bar experience, are customer-focused, hardworking, reliable and looking for some extra income each month?
Theatre Royal bar delivers a bar service that is fast and friendly and timed around performances and intervals. Bar Stewards need a calm head, can multi-task, are highly organised and proud of their work and can do all of this with a big smile!
Working as part of the Front of House team the role is to ensure that audience members are assisted in a caring and welcoming manner when attending Theatre Royal events and that all necessary customer services are provided.

New Non-Executive Directors
The Board is seeking new non-executives, initially to be appointed for three years but with the prospect of a second three-year term. The roles are unpaid.
As is the case with most small charities, as well as performing a governance role, trustees are expected to provide practical assistance and support to the executive team in areas in which they are qualified to do so.
We are looking for Volunteer Stewards to help us deliver first-class customer service and create a warm welcome to all who are visiting our beautiful theatre.
As a member of the volunteer team, we want you to have a great time with us because we love what we do, the building that we work in and the people we are so privileged to work with.
As a registered charity and relatively small arts organisation, we couldn’t operate without people willing to volunteer their time and energy to us, this allows our huge ambitions to be realised and cements us as a leader in the arts ecology of this region.
In return, we hope our volunteers are able to learn new skills, meet new people and enjoy interacting with us as well as seeing some fantastic theatre!
