When browsing the website, you’ll find a full list of performances under What’s On, on each performance page you’ll find the show information and the dates and times. Clicking the book now button will take you to the seating plan with up to date prices where you can select your seats and enter the checkout process. You can book online 24/7.

Booking over the phone

Call the Box Office Team on 01284 769505 to talk to one of our friendly people from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm. Outside of these hours please leave a message for us to call you back. If there’s a show on a Bank Holiday or Sunday we’ll be able to take calls from 1 hour before the performance.

Please have the following information to hand when calling:

  • The date and time of the performance(s)
  • The number of tickets you would like
  • Your preferred seating area
  • The credit or debit card with which you’ll be paying

Booking in person

The Box Office is open Monday – Saturday, 10am – 8pm.

On Sundays and Bank Holidays, we open 1 hour before the scheduled show start time.

Booking by email or Live Chat

Send us an email to or use the Live Chat feature on the website, just let us know the show and performance you’re looking to book and we will make contact with you to complete your booking.

Exchanging & Returning Tickets

If it’s more than 7 days before the performance we will credit your theatre account, minus a handling fee of £1.75 per ticket to use against another performance.

Less than a week before the performance we can try and resell your tickets for you, if we are successful we will credit your theatre account minus an admin charge of £1.75 per ticket to use against another performance.

Theatre Credit must be used within 2 years.


We’re always happy to make temporary reservations for you; we hold tickets for up to 7 days but if you need more time, we can often be more flexible.

Booking Fees

We do not charge booking or credit card fees but if you would like to add a donation to support our work it would be most appreciated.


We regret to inform that we are unable to look after bags or luggage during performances due to having no secure cloakroom. Therefore for security reasons, we ask audiences to avoid bringing bulky items with them.


Early Booking

Our ticket prices are subject to change as the theatre fills. We always recommend booking early to secure the best seats at the best price.

To ensure the best experience for our audiences and actors the Upper Circle and Gallery are not offered for sale until the pit and dress circle are sold. To encourage having the front of the auditorium full and to offer good seats at accessible prices, tickets in the front 2 rows of the auditorium are priced at £10.50 each.

Season Saver Discount

4+ shows save 10%           |            6+ shows save 15%            |           8+ shows save 25%

To further encourage early booking we offer the Season Saver discount which rewards booking for multiple shows within the season. Valid on all shows excluding Children’s Shows, Fundraising and Community Events & Panto. Valid in Price Bands A & B and cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts except the Friends Saver. Tickets must be booked in the same transaction.

Memberships Discount

Members of Theatre Royal save an additional 5% on tickets in price bands A & B, which can be used with the Season Saver discount allowing discounts of up to 30% off! Valid on all shows excluding Children’s Shows, Fundraising and Community Events & Pantomime. Friends Memberships start from £47 – Want to know more about the benefits of being a Friend?

Under 21 Saver

Tickets for those Under 21 are £10.50 for all shows excluding Community Events & Pantomime.

Groups & School Saver

Groups of 10+ get 5% off and groups of 25+ get 10% off bookings. Pantomime groups saver is only valid on off-peak and daytime off-peak performances. Schools’ tickets are £10.50 per ticket with buy 10 get 11th free. Pantomime schools’ tickets are £10.75 each.
