Bringing Your Family To The Theatre Royal
Shows For You
We offer a varied programme for families and younger audience members and are pleased to see people of all ages enjoying some of our own work as well as that of visiting companies. Why not take a look at our family shows which can be seen under Family in our What’s On section?
For those of you with young children we have booster cushions. Just ask any of our stewards on your arrival and they will be happy to help.
Alongside many of our family shows we run an exciting Discover programme, where you will find children’s and family activities pre and post show.
For those with older children why not come along to a Talk Back with the cast, or In Depth talks with the Director. Take a look to see what’s planned in our Discover Programme.
Here at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds our Education Officer runs a range of opportunities for children, young people, schools and adults to explore theatre and become a part of our far reaching theatre community in Suffolk and beyond! Look here to see what’s happening at the moment.

Advisory note to parents and guardians: Theatre Royal cannot accept responsibility for the safety of unaccompanied children between the ages of 8 and 16 attending a performance at the Theatre. Children under the age of 8 should be accompanied by a responsible adult. (This does not apply to workshops, unless otherwise stated.) Where an age guidance for a performance is given, this is the lowest age for which the company suggests their production is suitable.
